#Comic No.50:Sunday Strip and Egmont Phantom

My fellow comic lovers the most awaited 'Golden Jubilee' 50th post is presented hereby consisting of a Sunday Strip (Sunday 11) and a Egmont Phantom which includes a Mandrake story too.
The reasons behind selecting these comics for 50th post are quite obvious as the Sunday strip is a Falk/Moore/MCcoy masterpiece which deals with our Phantom story revealing his childhood, schooling and then transformation to the next Phantom in the family line. The story is a classic one in all aspects as Falk later rewrote the same story again illustrated by MCcoy solely which was also published by Indrajal Comics (Vol.24.No.14).There are minute differences in both stories which can be easily pointed by our 'those' few visitors cum 'Phantom Research Scholars':-o)
The Egmont Phantom, which is technically bright but weak other wise as compared to Falkian era, is just posted to give the taste of Non-Falk phantom stories to our comparatively new visitors but the highlight of it is the initial Mandrake story illustrated by Phil Davis, which the Mandrake fans will surely enjoy.
Although there are yet quite a many Phantom/Mandrake Indrajals still remaining to be posted but personally i would like to see more and more visitors opting for non-Phantom/Mandrake stories so that a 'balanced' taste could be maintained in the blog.

  9. Nice post. Quite suitable to the occasion. Moore's illustrations are fantastic. I always felt he had an edge over McCoy, specially when it comes to draw landscapes. Other stories are also good.

Congratulations for achieving this landmark. Many more to come.

    50 TH POST.
HOPE YOU HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN MY CHOICES,ITS QUITE SOMETIME SINCE I SAW THEM.PHANTOMS PLEASE.

  15. #Chandan:Bahut Shukriya,Badi Meharbaani.....
#TPH:Thanks!!!Moore possessed a mysterious style of illustration which suited typically to the character of Phantom.
MCcoy was Moore's assistant who later took the job after his death,MCcoy initially followed Moore's steps but later developed his own different style.
I might be rendering a article on these legendary Phantom artists along with some of the rare photographs of Ray Moore which are difficult to find otherwise.
#Panda:Welcome to CW..panda ji Frew never published a color comic till date...hope Sagnik can color and ink them for you.
#Ciro:Many thanks pal, where is your new drawing!!!
#Col.:Thanks col.,yeah me too planning to post a few non-PM issues.
#Satish:Thanks Satish.Indrajal is a regular feature of this blog but sometime a change is necessary to maintain the taste balanced.Don't worry your choices are very much in pipeline.
