'Pied Piper Of Hemlin' की कथा तो आप सबने पढ़ी/सुनी ही होगी जिसमे Hemlin शहर के निवासी अपने शहर के लातादाद(असंख्य) चूहों से छुटकारा पाने के लिए एक दक्ष बांसुरी वादक को बुलाते हैं जो अपनी बांसुरी की मीठी और मोहक तान पर चूहों को सम्मोहित कर उन्हें शहर से बाहर एक नदी में ले जाकर डुबो कर नगरवासियों को उनसे निजात दिलाता है ।

# 4th Anniversary Post

Friends,4th February this year Comic World completes four year of its journey which commenced on 4th of Feb.2007,which indeed is a long time for a blog and specially for a comic blog as its quite difficult to maintain the same enthusiasm and pace of posting with comics throughout the year(s).

Though this blog was brought into picture primarily to share Indrajal comics and memories related with comics with other fellow comic lovers but with due course of time it managed to share information about comics,movies and other interesting topics and prolonged its life.

दोस्तों इस बार काफ़ी सारे ख्यालात ज़हन में घुमड़ रहे है जिन्हें आपके साथ बांटना है पर सोच रहा हूँ की कहाँ से शुरू करू!..क्या पहले उस कॉमिक की बात करूँ जिसके बारे में बात करने की पिछली पोस्ट में बात हुई थी या फिर मरहूम शेहाब जी की उस कॉमिक की बात करू जो इस पोस्ट में आपके साथ मिलकर पढना चाहता हूँ या फिर उस कम्युनिटी के बारे में आप लोगों को बताऊँ जो न चाहते हुए भी हालातों के मद्देनज़र मुझे बनानी पड़ी.
चलिए सबसे पहले उस कॉमिक की ही बात करते हैं जिसके बारे में बात करना पिछली पोस्ट में तय हुआ था और वो कॉमिक है 'वन-वीर लोथार'.दोस्तों ये सिर्फ महज़ एक आम मैन्ड्रेक कॉमिक नहीं है जिसमे मैन्ड्रेक हमेशा की तरह अपराधियों से अपनी जादुई शक्ति के बल पर लड़ता है,बल्कि ये एक ऐसी कहानी है जो यह बताती है की मैन्ड्रेक और उसका जिगरी दोस्त लोथार कब और कैसे मिले.

#Comic No.111-112:Heere Ka Pyala & Sone Ka Mahal

As assured yesterday here is another comic of this very post,its IJC no.16 "Heere Ka Pyala" a Hindi Indrajal version of Sunday Strip No.39 (The Stolen Cup) which spanned from 17th October 1954 to 27th Feburary 1955.
Its Hindi version was never available on line before today,i think its English version has been posted at some blog,though not sure.This comic has been posted with the backing up request from Ajay Misra,yes,Mr Ajay Misra who has become a pioneer in comic scanning and sharing,sometimes i wonder how someone can have a passion of scanning/sharing comics of such a level!..how one can sustain such enthusiasm for sharing comics for such a long time.
Honestly speaking many of times due to lack of inspiring comments/motivation we bloggers find it difficult to keep our motivation level intact but this guy remains unaffected from all these things..he goes on simply scanning,scanning and scanning.
Ajay also possesses a great helping hand when it comes to extend help for arranging hard copies of comics.Initially due to some misunderstandings i developed a misconception about him that he might be running a 'comic' business but that was soon corrected when i realized the true spirit behind his efforts.
Still sometimes we do fight on some trivial issues due to communication gap but the intentions were/are always positive.
So friends enjoy this vintage IJC in the name of all selfless contributors and Ajay.

Friends presented here is another very early Manoj Chitra Katha,which were used to be in big format along with superb cover design by C.M.Vitankar.Here is another such gem "Sone Ka Mahal",which is the concluding part,unfortunately i am not having its 1st part.If anybody having it pls do share.

#Comic No.82:Khandharo Ke Lutere

The answer of the 3rd question of last quiz hasn't been answered yet,hence here is its answer;
The question was "What was the name and issue no. of that Indrajal comic which was illustrated jointly by Sy Barry and Bill Lignate.That very comic has been posted at one of our Indrajal blog.Can you name it!!!!"
and the answer is that very comic is "The Ancient Cave of Splendor,Vol.21.No.29/30" posted at CW itself.Its artwork was initiated by Bill Lignate and later on taken over by Sy Barry.In its Indrajal comic version the starting 2 pages have been omitted which clearly shows Lignate work,here those 2 pages are being posted taken from the 'unedited' Diamond Comics version.
Diamond Phantom and Mandrake Digests are the most underrated one as they doesn't enjoy the popularity status which they should be as these Diamond Digests contains the Phantom and Mandrake stories in their original unedited colored form.
Though Indrajal comics enjoys the supreme popularity but if one consider Diamond Digest closely than he can easily realize that they are also not far behind as they contain stories in unedited form and in color which is rare to find in any Indian comic version.

#Comic No.80:Gold Or Death

A new comic has been posted at ACK at the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri,so comic lovers please do check it.

Friends it seems to collaborate 1000 persons for printing of colored IJC is a too much ask..but here is one more novel idea and thats of printing of Mandrake Strips.
Friends here is a golden chance to getting Mandrake Sunday+Daily strip on paper...the whole idea is like that a master laser print out of each strip will be taken which will cost at most Rs.3/- per page and after that the xerox from the master laser print out can be taken out according to the no. of takers.
Now suppose if there are only 10 takers then to get a xerox print of say 30 page comic will cost around Rs.24 per person (yes,Rs.Twenty Four only) as to get a 30 page laser printout will cost Rs.30X3=90 and per person it will cost 90/10=9 plus Rs.15 for getting xerox of those 30 pages.Hence the total cost per person comes to be 9+15=24 Rs.only(excluding binding cost).
The cost would be reduced further as the no. of takers increases. If somebody can suggest any other cheaper option he/she is most welcome to please come forward.

Anniversary Post:Comic No.72-75

ANNIVERSARY POST

My Dear friends and esteemed visitors today is a special day for CW as exactly 1 year from today the first comic was posted on CW on 4^th Feb 2007. There is a long and interesting tale behind the formation of CW which I already had mentioned a couple of times but for the sake of new entrants of CW its being mentioned here once again along with some more interesting unknown facts.

I was/am a avid Indrajal fan right from my childhood but how did I came across the comics for the very first time is still a mystery for me also as in our family there was no tradition of reading books/comics apart from our school course .I remember very well that in those days we even can’t afford the subscription of newspaper which was the only news medium apart from radio hence there was no question of subscribing any type of magazine or comic.

But then how do I got addicted to books/comics if I think more deeply on it then I finds a reason behind my affinity which is since my maternal grandfather was a poet and a renowned literary person of his times then I might inherited the love for books from him.

Nearby my house there was a shop on which platform a old man known by the name of “Pundit Ji’ use to sell old books/comics etc. I remember myself often wandering around his shop and being fascinated by the colorful attractive covers of the comics. Sometimes he was kind enough to allow me to touch, turn and hold the comics in my hand. Soon I was strongly infatuated by these stapled bunches of colorful printed papers and the desire of owning them was getting stronger day by day but to realize this desire in reality for a kid of 6 having pocket money of mere 10 paisa/day was a too much ask.

Initially the demand for comics was fulfilled occasionally by parents but it was difficult also for them to satisfy my ever increasing hunger for comics.

So in order to quench the addiction the little kid got an idea and he use to skip the usual after school ‘chaat-pakodi’ feast in order to save his pocket money for comics. After 5 such days of ‘virtual fasting’ he was able to buy an Indrajal for 50 paisa, half the cover price rate of Rs.1/1.50 from Pundit Ji.

Year passed, my pocket money incremented and so do my collection which was now comprising of Indrajal,Parag,Lotpot,Diamond,Madhumuskan etc.

The story is too long hence friends take a small break here and read these comics until i returns:

Ok here i am back lets get back to the story;

During my summer vacations along with my similar liking friend I use to run a library in which we use to give comics of our collection on rent and from the earnings use to buy new comics which I myself read first before putting them in library.

A major event happened in 1983; India won the cricket world cup, the cricket culture in the country rose to new heights and I was also not remaining unaffected by the new rage. Cricket now became my new prime hobby and comics took a backseat.

In mid of 1985 we shifted to our new house and in this transition a major portion of my collection got lost, my negligence was also a major cause behind it as I was paying more attention toward cricket rather than comics.

From 85’ to early 90s’ I was busy in cricket though reading was also being continued at parallel but now the place of comics were taken by novels, film magazines and other teenage stuff ;o).

By the mid of 90s’ due to pressure of career shaping compulsions all my hobbies were forced to hibernate though occasional buying of Indrajals, whenever I find and able to buy, was continued.

Wheel of time rotated further, I completed my B.Tech than M.Tech before finally settling down to a satisfactory career. It was the later half of 2006 when during searching Indrajal on net TCP was discovered unfolding a huge comic mass in digital form. That was the triggering moment which woke the hibernated comic lover in me.

Since I always prefer to read comics/books on paper than on PC monitor hence the ‘comic quest’ begun. Fortunately I was able to collect a considerable volume of comics within few months with my ‘no stone left unturned’ approach. After maintaining a sizable collection of Indrajal Comics naturally I thought of contributing the scans to TCP but from comments thread I came to know that there was a waiting line (!!!) even for contributing comics……..reluctant of being in any queue and at least in a comic queue the idea of starting a new blog was cropped up considering the huge volume of crazy online Indrajal lovers.

Hence on 4^th Feb CW was born with a motive behind to share the comics with similar liking comic lovers who don’t have access to these timeless gems.

During this one year journey a whole new multi dimensional world of comic lovers was unfolded before me, interaction, sharing thoughts with these comic fans was really a divine, knowledgeable and unforgettable experience for me.

I am very much grateful to all comic lovers who visited CW and shared their precious thought with me. I am highly indebted especially to Mr.Ajay Misra, Mr.Vineeth Abraham and other persons behind the master project of scanning Indrajal Comics and making them available to us so that we were able to post them here for all of you.

I am also very much thankful to a person without whose support it was not possible for CW to live up to this stage and that person is my wife as it was only because of her patience and support that I was able to devote continuously the required length of time in scanning, compressing and then uploading the comics one after another for the whole year.

Last but not least I am heartily thankful and indebted to Comic Crazy from whom I got the very first anniversary gift i.e. the CW anniversary special banner; he is such a talent along with a good helping human.

At this occasion I wish to list the names of all those known persons who did left an impact on CW during its 1^st year journey.

Its time now to fulfill CWs esteemed visitors demand and in this series the first demanded comic is presented hereby which was requested sometime time back by a ardent/regular/loyal and praisingly devoted comic lover Col.Worobu.
Expressive and avid comic lover such as Col. are among the real inspirational strength of CW as regular and encouraging comments from them adds fuel to the fire of enthusiasm to get going along with the show....thanks Col. for your support.
