It's a Phantomet creation i.e.a Non-Falk Phantom,I guess!
Though never liked other than Falk-Phantoms,I sometimes found these stories r gripping as well!
A e.g. The mystery of Vaccul Castle(Indrajal No.341/342) .... a 1976 Phan-grp creation which's really xciting! :-)
Dara:Yeah,you got it right.
I was also having same impression as you but as i am coming across with more of non-falk creations i can say that many of them are quite gripping.
The screen play and art work of this one is quite brilliant.
I am a little too soon in replying.. I just downloaded the comic, but was quite excited about it.. I usually love the "read aloud" type phantom stories.. my all time favourites include some of such tales. That reminds me, do you have "The Third Phantom's Bride"? I really love that comic, in which the 3rd phantom acquires the famous diamond cup of Alexander. Could you please post it if u have??
will write again after reading the comic :)
Wonderful comic!!! Thanks a lot cw. :)
great, thanks a lot dear
Rahul
Really great comic. Thanks for posting it CW.
I'd a quick look n frm that I realised it's really a xcitin' one!
Only ,as I felt, the story was bit too draged.....as at 1st encounter Phantom defeated, then he'd made it in next time,b4 learned some basics! :o)
I appreciate the way Phantomet-team maintained ALLMOST ALL basic-infos intact n the art-work also very good!.
Only the panel-size!!!!!ohhh.....they gonna prove with those giant-panels that these r NOT D/S Strips... ;-)
Bye
#Dr.Luaga:Thanks.yeah,i am having those one too..will be coming to CW/ICC/TPH.
Anon, darth seid:Thanks..but i was hoping to see your reasons behind liking it.
#Dara:I felt the story quite natural as in the fit of revenge he jumps into arena without any preperation, realizes later and returns to win.The whole idea alongwith all original background without a slightest modification supported up with great art work makes the comic memorable.
Just downloaded and peeked into the scans. The story looks excellent. Pictures are superb. Overall a delight to read. Thanks a lot CW.
Nice comic, CW. Thanks!!
Hey Friend... Looks interesting... can't wait to download and indulge myself in it...
Beauty !!
looks like a great comic, can;t download as media fire is down at the moment? btw is this an egmont? i have some earlier egmonts/ fantoment in scan forms ( not published in india)
if u like, i can post some
Seems to be an interesting comic. Thanks ICC for confirming that Mediafire is down. I was getting worried b'cause I doubted that my ISP might have blocked Mediafire.
I feel that a Phantom is a Phantom is a Phantom is a Phantom.... and is a pleasure reading it whosoever might be the publisher / writer. Although reading Indrajal is nostalgic & brings back memories of our childhood but it is interesting to read other Phantom/ Mandrake comics specially the ones that have not been read / published in India.
Hello,
The mediafire link is not working.
I feel that the quality of artwork is better appreciated in b/w strips.Your comments, please.
Have any of you read AFI comics? [published in India ,featuring Rip kirby,Corrigan and Cisco kid]
It was in B/W only.Eventhough I saw them many years before, I can never forget the artwork.
_Gowtham.
Mediafire is giving trouble intermittently for last few days. Thankfully I was able to download all posts after few attempts.
Posting variations are most welcome, be it comics or presentations. Great.
TPH: Thanks.
Wild Magic: Welcome to CW.
ubermann: Thanks..keep visitng.
ICC: Its a Fantomet import.Yeah non Falk stories are welcome as many of them are quite interesting.
CC: Yeah a Phantom is no doubt a Phantom but all writers are not Falk.Though a lot of non Falk stories are also quite interesting but overall if you consider then majority of non Falk stories are so-so and pathetic to read,i will also be posting some of 'those' stories to make you rethink on your quote that "A Phantom is a Phantom is a Phantom...."
Nitish: Mediafire is working fine here..i just downloaded from it to check the link and it worked fine.
The quality of artwork seems more eye pleasing in B/W as now in era of color we don't see B/W comics quite often, hence whenever we come across any of such it feels pleasing but going for a long run one would certainly tends to get bored with them.
Also can anyone imagine the comics such as "Phantom and Blue Giant or The Golden People" in B/W...!!!
TPH: The idea has been imported from you..:o)
Very good comic that blends well into Falks stories. I saw the Phantom on tv yesterday. It was pathetic, worse than a B grade movie. The Avenger could make a good movie. Or the phantoms childhood could also make a good movie. It could then be similar to spiderman-1. I hope the Phantom could be made into a succesful movie someday.
I am glad there are now no passwords on any of the blogs. The password excercise seems to have helped though since there are now many new comments in all the blogs.
Dear CW you are right that Falk can not be compared with any other writer. I also have read some of the pathetic stories (Charlton) but then how can one appriciate good when one does not have bad to compare with.
Definately, Falk is beyond compare and was a legend like his creation and his legacy, like his creation, is being continued by the next generation .
Nice artwork with good details. But Falk is Falk.... Thank u CW for variety.
GC: I don't think that true and complete essence of Phantom or any other comic character can ever be brought onto celluloid in a time frame of couple of hours.
Textual fiction, comics and Cine media all are different form of arts which can't be completely superimposed over each other though there may be some overlapping areas too,..to present a classic of a different medium into other medium is just like to convert one domain into another..and this conversion always alters/modifies/reduces some of the basic inherited qualities of the original medium.
nice comics, thanks.
Frew? Egmont? Well, I like Phantom from all the world!
Wlcome to frew Phantom!
I hope you continue to post many stories from Frew and Egmont!
nice comics thanks for this comics once again........ :)
Dear CW,had a terrible problem of d/l any comic these days and hence cud not comment on The Avenger.
Looks a nice one.If iam not mistaken, shud this be the one thanx to which the whole phantom episode/character/story all started?
Then it becomes a real vintage treat..whether its a IC or not.
U got a nice one out of the bag.Thanks.
I used to find Charlton Phantoms to be pathetic when I was young, but now that they are classics I have gained a new appreciation for them. Plus in the falk/barry phantom strips, the phantom is always shown as on top of things and in control of all situatuions, but in the charlton, egmont, moonstone stories he always gets into more serious trouble. I like to read the falk/barry phantoms alternatively with the other non-canonical stories (kinda like taking pickles with rice :o) ).
#Comic60:Welcome..
#Ciro:I also hope so..:o)
#arjun.inmiit:Thanks....
#Chandan:Yeah,guessed right...
#Col.:The disadvantage of Charlton/King Phantom is that they use to distort original Phantom background too often and thats why their stories seems to be too much different.
Great story, just makes u get to the bottom of everything, specially considering it as the pivotal point around which the whole Phantom phenomenon took place.
Its like a Flash-back.
Great job,CW.
No wonder u are looking out for more Frews. Its worth it.
thats right if u give download links to everyone on e-mail, no one will visit the blog.
it should be given to a selected few, and those who cant access blogspot...
Wowee! I am so eagerly awaiting the next Bahadur. It looks really good! The only Bahadurs I remember reading when I was a kid were the ones where he used to wear the pink shirt; these kurta waala Bahadurs are pretty neat too. They must've been published before I was born, I guess. Thanks a lot, CW!
I have been a silent leecher for too long.. just wanted to say a BIG thanks for all these comics..
-Sridhar.
#Chandan: Thanks.
#aditya simha: This particular one was published in 1979,were you born then!!
#Sridhar: Welcome to CW,keep visiting with your inputs also.
WOW. The History channel was showing how Black Beard the pirate was foxed.
His ship was armed with cannons and the British ship with guns. The Brit sailors went down the deck to avoid the broadside. BB thought he had them. When he boarded the Brit ship, the solders came out and let him have it.
