# Vintage Articles

Readers like Silly Boy,Lalit and many others were requesting from long time to post selected vintage articles from old film magazines.I too like much to read quality film magazines of bygone era specially of 80's and 90's,and in this space magazines like Madhuri,Sushama,Filmfare,Priya,Movie Jagat etc are of worth mentioning.
Nowadays there are no quality magazine left except Filmfare(English) which up to some extent still has maintained at least some quality though it also has deteriorated much with the changing taste of readers and culture, rest all magazines have already lost in mist of time much before.

Presented here are few vintage articles from magazines such as Madhuri,Filmfare,Movie Jagat etc for all of you.
When Bharatbhushan(I hope you must be knowing him) died in early 90's then his close associate and friend 'Chandrashekhar' shared some of his memories about him in this interesting article which appeared in Hindi Filmfare of early 90's.

Lalit,i am still unable to locate that particular article on Sanjeev Kumar's demise but here is a interview of him published in 'Movie Jagat',hope you will like it.

As you all of know that i have great interest in comics and movies and use to write/post mainly about on these two subject, here i wish to seek opinion and advice from all you and that is should i post articles on both these subjects(comics, movies) together here only or should i post movies related article on my other blog which was created for posting films related articles only but after when i felt that it is quite difficult to concentrate and manage two blogs equally than i start concentrating and relying on my main blog for posting all articles/posts.Pl leave your sincere and valuable opinion about it,thanks.
Late 'Rajkumar' has earned a reputation of being a arrogant and eccentric person but a star of interesting personality for cine goers. Here is a interview of him adding to the above mentioned fact.

Quiz Time

1.Identify who are these 3 actors and for which movie they were disguising as pretty 'shemales'?

2.Can you recognize the brother-duo in this picture both of whom are successful actors of nowadays.

Chalte-chalte here is a ACK for all of you which is brought for all you because of a avid reader and respected figure among comic lovers/reader Kuldeep Bhai.If this comic is here than solely because of him, hence all credit goes to him only.

Buddy
First of all my thanks for the articles. I was thinking about sending you a mail for your returning to these kinds of posts. For the last couple of months you were concentrating on Phantom. I am not against Phantom and moreover your Phantom posts are different from other bloggers' post as you instead of merely posting the comics also provide a trailor and behind the scene information about the comics. These trailors and behind the scene information attract me more than the comic itself as I enjoy reading comics more on paper than on computer screen amd second you know that I am unable to download any comic. Even the scans which sometimes I ask you on mail I take a print-out of the same, sometimes bind it and read at the leisure of my home. But you cannot deny the fact that there are so many bloggers (almost 80% of the comic based blogs) who concentrate of Phantom and Mandrake. Only few like Anupam Aggarwal and your blog which provide information on Indian comics. Anupambhai though posts comics but provides very little information for discussion which is not sufficient for me to quench the thirst of my discussion and it is you only who provides materials of magazines of bygone era. We can peep to the era of our fathers and sometimes can re-live those beautiful moments by reading or re-reading these rare magazines. What I want to say through all this is there are so many bloogers for the lovers of Phantom & Mandrake.(Don't take it that I am not a fan of Betal) but for readers like me your is the only blog where we can find materails other than P/M to discuss and cherish those moments. I am not saying not to post Phantom as your Phantom posts as I explained above are different and sometimes I find a glimpse of stories which are otherwise inexcissble to me through those posts or sometimes your Phantom posts inspire me to read those stories which I have in my collection but still don't care to read them. What I want to say to keep a balance.
As I suggested you earlier also it is better to post your film related articles on your main blog itself as it provides different hues to this colourful blog and provides it a cult magazine status. Posting articles on topic-wise on two blogs will dilute the beauty and consistency of main blog. India is a beautiful country because of its diversity and so is your blog.
Long live your blog
&
God bless you.

SB: Many thanks Arun for your precious feedback about my query about which i was in a state of indecision.Your opinion is highly valuable and respected for me and i will be sticking to one blog for all topics. What a impressive and proud example you have put by comparing this blog with nation regarding diversity!I am really honored.
I was also looking for a opportunity to steer away from normal IJC/Phantom post as last 4 posts were devoted to it only, also posting around a single topic brings in some monotony.
I would like to tell you that its because of elaborative discussion with persons like you,Kuldeep Bhai and others which quench the thirst of discussing about comic/magazine in me as well as kindle vigorously the passion of preparing more such posts.
Same as you i also like to read comics/magazines on paper rather than on PC monitor and solely because of this i keep on collecting hard copies.
Yes,Anupam Bhai is another appreciable blogger who concentrates on other Indian comics too and its because of his passion only i too began collecting all other comics too.
In the last once again thanks for honest, impressive and heartfelt feedback.

These are excellent articles and i was looking for exactly these type of materials.

Bharat Bhushan ki kahani pad kar jaise ankhein khul gayi, actors ski life kabhi itni aasan nahi thi.Aur bharat bhushan jaise abhineta ne apna akhiri samay kis tarah nikala hai, ye pad kar kafi dukh hua.

Sanjeev Kumar ka interview ke to kya kahne. Ek dum bindass. I am his biggest admirer and feel sorry for him that this new generation has just forget him and not even aware of the range of his acting capabilities. I don't see any actor today who can have equally good caliber. Irfan khan/Manoj bajpayi jaise kalakaar to uske samne bachche hain.

Zaheer bhai, Thanks a lot for all this. I am not able to express my gratitude towards this. And really feel criminally sorry for such a late response.

Bhai sahab, dil to bahut karta hai ki main bhi apke liye kuch kar payun. filhaal to sirf apko dhanyavaad de sakta hun.

Ek request aur zaheer bhai, Agar apko kahin Deewar(1975) Ya Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) se related koi article ya reviews mile purani patrika mein to please use zaroor post karein. Main amitabh bachchan ki purani movies ka bahut bada fan hun.

Thanks again zaheer bhai. Khuda hafiz and shabba khair.

Zaheer Bhai, I don't have words to thanks you. You really made my day. I was on holidays since last 20 days (went across country to so many places with family) and infact i saw your posts in between when i was on move and went to cyber cafe to check mails (My heart was overwhelmed to see this post at that time, but couldn't left comment to thanks you due to very shortage of time, so decided to check this post after coming home and appologise you as well for delayed response), I hope you will forgive me.

Lalit: Welcome and thanks friend if you have liked the post.I am satisfied that at least one person i have make happy.
Yeah, true in early time these Bollywood actors/actress doesn't care to invest and save for their later days and as a result many of them suffered a lot when their hay days were over. You must have read about 'Vimmi,Khemchand Prakash,Bhagwan Dada' and many others that how they lived their old age in poor condition once their time was over in film industry.
Sanjeev Kumar was a excellent actor and the actors of the current generation stands now where near him.I know your taste very well as i also have a similar one.I will be looking and posting any of such kind of old articles,be assured.
Your kind presence with heart warming comments is always needed here.
