hey,nice comic...& thnx 4 posting a Hindi one....
Actually, alternatively hindi n eng. posting is a perfect combo...
And, more importantly, I,m 1sttt(hope so!)
wow!this comic published in very EARLY Indrajal [No.15],but with DIFFERENT art-work...also i had it's non-IJC version with ANOTHER art-work!!
Three art-works(or,may b more)4 ONE Phantom comic!!!...only possible 4 this LEGENDARY COMMANDER! Ain't??
Nice information sagnik, really this one has 3 art work??what non-IJC version you are having...i mean which publication!
That comic (16-pager) published in a teen-Magagine:'Anandamela'('94) when they dedicated a full issue 2 Phantom n his ALL infos (actually i learned a lot abt Phantom/vetal frm it).
It was a King Features publication definately... & think it's the last art-work as that was best among these three .....
he must be having a diamond version
different artwork? i dont think so.. its wilson mccoy's work...based on sunday 38 the master spy
Unfortunately i too hv a hindi hard copy of the same - wud love to go thru an english one. Thanks a bunch for this one CW - saved me a scan job!
Hi,
I think the english version has been posted in TCP/ ICC. I dont remember exactly.
pattu
yup!... different ar-work n that too in 16-page (may b edited)format....AND there that Mr.Hogg is far slimer n sharp....n Phantom is better than this Mccoy art-work
May b those frm Egmont/king comic etc. those licensed by King features n sometimes they created own art-works based on Falk's story
@CW:sorry for one mistake....not 3 but 2 different art-works....just now as i check the No.15 physically n what i thought diff. art-work,actually it's heavily edited[compare to No.297] n diff. coloring too...
sorry dude...
But, definetly that magazine comic's better one....
But, ONE thing's certain...though numerious artists drawn Phantom n among them Frew artists r v.good....BUT NO COMPARE WITH GR8 Barry!!!!
he's '110% perfect' n superb....kash woh abbhi continue karte Phatom illustration, now days phantom's ORDINARY,both in story n illustration....while, Mandrake still delivers some thrilling impact!
#Josh:Welcome, you will also be getting many chances where you can save me from scanning some of those.
#Pattu:Yeah, this one was posted at TCP as Indrajal No.15,'The Unknown Commander',but since the issue 297 wasn't carrying any information about its reprint status therefore it was a bit difficult on my part to keep track of it..anyway this one is in Hindi so doesn't make much difference.
#Sagnik:Nice informative information...yeah...it would be nice if Barry could have continued but in my opinion after Falk phantom comics aren't matching that charisma which was created by Falk.
Personally i don't find that much exiting phantom stories of post Falk era.
You seem to always remembering me Patrolman CW :))
Thanks for the comic. Even though I do not understand Hindi, the ads are a pleasure to look at! That's the minimum I need to bring back those old memories :)
Completely agre with u....nowdays Phantom stories r very much predictable n also ALL OF OUR FAVORITE places as Eden,Tree-house,skull-cave(less frequent)etc r missing in this post-Falk era...
But, if u see the Mandrake stories, they r pretty good (though a bit slow)n art-work obviously perfect..
The reason behind it, acc. 2 various Mandrake-fan as well, Fredricks frequently bring the links frm Phil davis era n then create a NEW one FRM IT..(e.g. D251..published by Bala....begining part repeat of a '60s era)
Also, frequently visit of Magnon,Segrid r continued , and.....
BEST part of Fredricks is giving Derek a SON! ...Eric,who looks like 20-yr old!oooops... can ya beat it!!!
Akhon challam ....
Hey,abbar elam!
As u said abt repeatation....N0.321 n 323(both phantom)r repeated frm No.30+ n 50+(xactly cannt say) and posted at TCP already...so,avoid 'em
#Col. Worobu:How a patrolmen can ever forget his Col:-))
#Sagnik:I agree with you.Fredrick's Mandrake is still exiting as Fred didn't drifted away from 'basics' of Falk's Mandrake, whereas the Phantom writers of post Falk era drifted quite a long from Falk basics. They are showing a 'grown-up shave' Phantom, they are showing wounded n blood smeared Phantom and stories are not powerful enough to catch the sprit of Falkian Phantom.
Has anyone ever witnessed a "grown-up shave" and "blood smeared" Phantom from Falk's pen!!!!
Guess my prev. comment deleted due to some unknown reason -::
However, there r certain things which very much signifies OUR phantom.... most of them r missing in Non-Falk creations...
such as Phantom shows his face!!(Norway publ.),He presents in all Explorer-kind adventures(come on, this's solely Mandrake-dept. how can this savior will do such things???),his CITY oriented activity (while his primary base is DEEP WOOD!) is another turn-off and many more..
BUT, ther's a CLASSIC example of such fake creations....
In 'Pharaoh Phantom'[IJC#93;Charlton]Real Phantom get a punch frm that fake-phantom & ended up with a SKULL-MARK on his face!] eeeeeeyyykkkkk!!!!!!![that time i had no idea abt C/GK/K publications n thought al r Falk creations...but still i suspect it's scripting at 1st place...A REAL PHANTOM PHAN, na!]
In short,Soooo irresponsible n wortless creations!!!
*All this thing remind me a ol' story abt two mothers claiming one child... at the end, when RAJA asked to cut that child in two pieces , while one mother readily agree , other was screaming n crying loudly for her child....'cos she's HIS real mother!!
Similarly, there's such diff. btwn Falk n Non-Falk creators...
But all this non-sense make my affinity TOWARDS Only-Falk creations ,specially all Falk/Barry Phantoms to a extream...I can read those REAL Phantoms [besides Mandrake/Bahadur]a thousand times without being bored!
#Sagnik:Yes....the precious outcome of the whole matter is that one can read a Falk story an uncountable times without being bored.I also don't know how many times i had read these timeless comics(IJC) up till now.
It would be great if the Phantom, Slave Market of Mucar part 1 & 2 could be uploaded. Seem to remember these from 25 years back. Thanks very much to you guys. God bless.
